Administrative files (1965-1987) of the Office of Communication and Interpretation (1973-1987) and its predecessor body, the Division of Public Relations (1967-1973), contain correspondence, memoranda, reports, articles, manuscripts, news releases, news clippings, and publications regarding the Division and Office's activities in disseminating information regarding the Lutheran Council in the USA (LCUSA), Lutheran churches, and Lutheran individuals to religious and secular communications media; providing cooperative opportunities in public relations activities for the LCUSA participating bodies; producing and distributing film and broadcast material; assisting in the production of other LCUSA office and division publications; and establishing and maintaining contacts for interpreting Lutheran faith and work to.
